The Falling Seed

I recently placed bird feeders in the yard so I can practice photographing birds. This photo is the result of trying to capture the seeds falling from the bird feeder. I increased the shutter to 1/2,500 to stop the motion but kept my ISO at 500 for a darker photo, especially the background, so the seeds would stand out. I’m pretty happy with this photo, especially with the tufted titmouse flying in. My focusing skills could use some work, but it’s quite tricky with the speed these birds have! I’m not sure if he caught that falling seed but the next photo on my camera card shows him flying away with a seed.

Now I just need warmer weather so I can stay outside for a while and capture some nice photos of birds in the surrounding trees.
