Fabulous Franconia Ridge Loop

On a bluebird sky weekday in June this happened …

We began the day hiking up Falling Waters Trail.

We emerged from the woods and reached the first summit, Little Haystack, and we were in complete awe of our first breathtaking views.

We hiked onward over the Franconia ridge to Mount Lincoln, through some incredible rock formations and I couldn’t stop clicking the spectacular views all around us. Even if the photos look similar, this is such an epic hike I feel I have to share them all.

After Mount Lincoln, we continued on to Mount Lafayette with sweet craggy alpine gardens around us that were just starting to bloom, we could tell that they’ll be spectacular in a week or two, and we meandered through a small crop of evergreens.

We descended Greenleaf Trail, visited Greenleaf Hut briefly, and then hiked down Old Bridal Path to finish this amazingly beautiful hike.
